Mendel B. Silberberg, a Jewish communal leader and a prominent attorney in the motion picture industry, died here at the age of 78. He was a former president of the Los Angeles Jewish Community Council.
A native of Los Angeles, Mr. Silberberg was active in the work of the United Jewish Appeal, the Joint Distribution Committee and the National Conference of Christians and Jews. He visited Israel with a UJA study mission group.
