Mendel N. Fisher was honored here today at a luncheon at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel marking his 25th anniversary as executive director of the Jewish National Fund of America. Present at the luncheon were the senior officials of the Jewish Agency and major Zionist groups, Israel Government officials and senior executives of the various major fund-raising organizations for Israel. Gottlieb Hammer, executive director of the Jewish Agency, presided.
Tribute was paid to Mr. Fisher by Simcha Pratt, Consul General of Israel in New York, Dr. Martin Rosenbluth, representatives for the Western Hemisphere of the Government of Israel Treasury Department and Isidore Epstein, assistant secretary of the Jewish National Fund. In responding to the tributes, Mr. Fisher said that the progress made by the Jewish National Fund has been made possible by the support of the masses of the people and by the invaluable help of all of his colleagues who have a very great share in these achievements.
