Mendel N. Fisher, executive director of the Jewish National Fund, will sail on the Aquitania on Wednesday for Europe to attend the Zionist Congress in Geneva and other conferences in Geneva and Paris.
In a statement to the J.T.A. Mr. Fisher urged a nation-wide effort to bring to the attention of the Intergovernmental Refugee Committee leaders who will meet in Washington early in September that “no solution of the refugee problem is possible without consideration of Palestine, which must occupy a position of priority, at least in the partial solution of the refugee question.”
“We must focus attention in Washington on the fact that the doors to Palestine must be open in order to permit settlement of a larger number of refugees,” he said.
