The sixth annual convention of the National Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs will be held in Lakewood, N. J., February 1, 2 and 3 at Grossman’s Hotel, it was announced here Friday by Theodore Charnas, president of the organization.
Men’s clubs affiliated with conservative congregations throughout the country will be represented.
The convention will discuss methods by which the clubs can further religious life in their communities, as well as highest ideals of civic life. Adult education, vocational guidance for Jewish youth and strengthening of the Boy Scout movement among the Jewish youth are also on the agenda.
Emphasizing the increasing importance of Jewish men’s clubs, Mr. Charnas declared that “the Jewish laity represented in the men’s club movement has come to realize that at this time of uncertainty in the Jewish community it must play a more active part in the affairs of Jewry than ever before. The manifest problems confronting Judaism challenge us to place all of our energies towards their solution.”
