Franz Lehar, composer of Hitler’s favorite operetta, “The Merry Widow,” has disappeared from Vienna after a brawl with Nazis and is believed to have smuggled himself and his Jewish-born wife out of Germany, seeking to reach Budapest, it was reported here today. Lehar had a dispute some days ago with local Nazis who marched into his castle at Nussdorf-on-the-Danube, the reports said.
