Steps with regard to the spreading of correct information as to the possibilities for Jewish immigration into Mexico have been taken by a number of local Jewish organizations as a result of the fantastic rumors circulated in America and Europe.
That “it is necessary to inform Jews who plan to emigrate to Mexico of the true conditions existing in this country” was the unanimous resolution adopted at the mass meeting of the principal organizations of Western Jews held here. The mass meeting elected a Committee consisting of two representatives of each organization. The Committee was charged with the task of preparing a statement of immigration possibilities to be published in the press of Europe and America. The draft of the statement is to be submitted to each organization.
Opinions vary as to what the statement of Mexican Jews will be – a warning or a welcome to Jewish refugees.
