President Adolfo Ruiz of Mexico sent congratulations to Israel President Isaac Ben Zvi on the occasion of Israel’s sixth Independence Day, it was announced here.
It was also revealed that the Mexican Foreign Minister, Dr. Luis Padilla Nervo, sent a similar cable to Moshe Sharett, Premier and Foreign Minister of Israel. The Israel Minister here, Yosef Kessary, marked the occasion with a formal reception and garden party while the local Jewish community held a mass meeting.
At a meeting here of the Inter-American Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations accredited to the United Nations the establishment of Israel was hailed as one of the great achievements of the UN. The delegates also adopted unanimously a resolution calling for the outlawing of genocide and racial hatred.
