A petition requesting the withdrawal of citizenship from Jews in Mexico and the -confiscation of Jewish-owned factories, will be submitted to President Cardenas by the Golden Shirts, a nationalistic organization, it was announced here today.
The announcement was made by Nicolas Rodriguez, head of the Golden Shirts, who were denounced recently by the Mexican president. The anti-Jewish petition will carry 200,000 signatures, Senor Rodriguez announced.
In addition to the withdrawal of citizenship from Jews, the memorandum of the Golden Shirts demands also that a law be enacted in Mexico prohibiting Jewish residents from participating in political activities.
The Golden Shirts organization is constructed along the same lines as the Nazis in Germany. The main organ of the anti-Semitic group is the weekly, Defensa, which has a large circulation and is outspokenly anti-Semitic.
