The Miami Beach City Council today unani?ualy adopted a city ordinance prohibiting the display of signs by hotels, apartments and other public places which indicate the practice of religious discrimination by these resorts.
The ordinance which was moved for adoption by Mayor Herbert A. Frink of Miami Beach, will become law at its third and final reading at the meeting of the City council next week. The bill was submitted to the City Council by the Anti-Defamation ?ague of B’nai B’rith and by local B’nai B’rith lodges after a survey which showed ##nat of 67 hotels in the area that had exhibited signs using such phrases as “restrict##,” “Gentiles,” and “Gentiles only” to advertise their discriminatory practices, ## refused to eliminate these signs.
