Michael Ashenbrenner, one of the most active leaders of the Russian revolutionary movement, died here today at the age of eighty-four.
Ashenbrenner was sentenced to death for his revolutionary activities by the Czarist government in 1884. His sentence was commuted to life imprisonment. He spent twenty years in the Schluesselburg fortress, thirteen years in Siberia and was released in February 1917, during the Kerensky revolution.
