Appeal campaign now in progress in the following message:

“I am glad to extend a word of encouragement to the workers in the cause of the United Palestine Appeal on the inauguration of its 1929 campaign in Detroit. I doubt that any movement of our time has challenged the attention and compelled the admiration of the world as forcibly as has the program for the rehabilitation of the Jew on his native soil.

“Daring in its inception, this most laudable project has gradually woven its way into the hearts of all civilized nations who have recognized in its theme only a fitting reward to a people whose indomitable will has perpetuated it through 20 centuries of dispersion.

“I sincerely hope that the movement meets with the success it so richly deserves.”

The first eight days of the Detroit campaign brought $45,000 towards the city’s $100,000 quota.
