Gov. G. Mennen Williams has reactivated the State’s Fair Election Practices Commission, according to an announcement here today. The chairman of the commission is the Rt. Rev. Richard S. Emrich, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Michigan, and the members include Protestants and Jews, among them Rabbi Morris Adler.
The commission’s goal, according to Bishop Emrich, is “to guard against the intrusion of racial or religious issues and of unethical practices” in this year’s election campaign in this state.
