On April 25. Detroit’s Reformed Temple Beth El will conduct a historic ground breaking ceremony for their new $7 million synagogue, located in the northern suburb of Bloom-field Township. The synagogue was designed by the internationally famous Minoru Yamasaki. Temple Beth El, Michigan’s oldest Jewish congregation (organized in 1950), and one of the country’s largest and most prestigious congregations, is moving from its present location which it has occupied for 49 years. The new complex, to be built on a 28 acre location, will include a synagogue, chapel, religious school, social hall and administration offices.
