A pledge to raise $129,000 for the Jewish National Fund was given by 200 delegates from thirteen mid-Western and Southwestern states at the close of the Mid-Western Jewish National Fund conference. Prof. Gustave Klausner was elected president, Julius Livingston of Tulsa, Harry Friedberg of Chicago and H. J. Slonim, vice-presidents; S. A. Goodman, treasurer, and Mendel Faber, executive secretary.
An administrative committee of seventeen and an advisory council of fifty were created. Plans were made for an increased effort to aid the Jewish National Fund. Resolutions in line with the national Jewish National Fund Conference held at Philadelphia were adopted.
