An endorsement of the Jewish boycott on German goods was voted here yesterday at the closing session of the third annual convention of the Mid-Western Young Israel, Orthodox Jewish youth group, at the Hotel La Salle.
Speakers at the banquet which concluded the convention were Rabbis Isaac Stollman of Detroit and Saul Silber of Chicago; Moses Hoenig of New York, and Maurice Nathanson of Chicago, president of Young Israel.
The convention adopted resolutions proposing the extension of Young Israel groups and activities to the Jewish students in the colleges; advocating active participation in the building of Palestine, and condemning the Nazi government for its actions against the Jews.
Earlier the convention had listened to reports on the activities of the various branches of Young Israel and to a detailed report on the work of the National Council of Young Israel concerning Sabbath observance.
Among the speakers at the convention were Professor Meyer Waxman of the faculty of the Hebrew Theological Seminary, and Max Shulman, president of the Zionist region of Chicago.
