The Emigdirekt, central Jewish organization engaged in fostering Jewish emigration in various countries throughout the world, voted at its session today to sever connections with all the Jewish organizations in other countries, including the Hebrew Emigration Aid Society of America, and to merge with the Emcol, a newly established world-Jewish body to seek new territories for Jewish emigration and colonization.
All the funds as well as the archives of the Emigdirekt will be transfered to the Emcol, according to the decision adopted today. The Emigdirekt organization will be represented in the administration of the Emcol with an equal number of members. Dr. Julius Brutzkus, long active in the Emigdirekt, will be vice-president of the Emcol council.
The Emcol is now conducting investigations in several countries where Jewish emigration and colonization could be made possible on a large scale. The organization is composed of representatives of different parties.
