The influx of Jewish refugees from Eastern and Central Europe into the British zone of Germany has decreased to such an extent that 50 of 70 camps for “infiltrees” have been closed in the British zone of Germany, it was revealed here.
It was also disclosed that agricultural training facilities for displaced persons in the British zone have been expanded by the requisitioning of farms in the Dusseldorf area. A large estate near a Jewish training farm at Ollesheim has just been handed over to DP’s who will be able to move into it from a “tent city” before severe winter weather sets in. In view of the food crisis, British authorities have allocate special supplies of vegetables for hospital patients, convalescents and children.
