Milton Friedman, a longtime JTA correspondent, died April 28 in Washington at 81. Friedman worked for JTA in the 1950s and 1960s, mainly in Washington, before becoming a speechwriter for President Ford. Friedman, who shared a name with a Nobel-Prize winning economist, earned a Purple Heart for his service during World War II.
