A campaign organization to conduct Milwaukee’s drive as part of the United Jewish Appeal for funds to relieve distressed German Jews has just been announced. The drive is to be held during the first week of September with a tentative quota of $30,000.
A. L. Saltzstein, general chairman, announced the following campaign leaders: co-chairmen, Edwin S. Ostermann, Benjamin Poss and H. D. Schwartz; treasurer, Louis Heilbronner; secretary, Aaron Scheinfeld; executive secretary, Ida L. Margoles.
Rabbi Samuel Hirshberg was named chairman of the initial gifts committee, with Oscar Brachman and A. J. Friedlander co-chairmen. B. F Saltzstein was appointed chairman of the speakers’ committee and N. J. Gould, publicity committee head.
Officers named above and the following are to serve on the executive committee: Bert C. Broude, Joseph G. Daneman, Max A. Freschl, N. B. Goldstein, Herman Reel, Mrs. Sigmund Ruscha and David Weshner.
