Herman Reel, local merchant and prominent advocate of Henry George’s single-tax theories, is dead at the age of sixty-seven years. He was a member of the City Club, Temple Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun, and the Milwaukee County and State Bar Associations.
Local Nazis received another setback when the German-Austrian War Veterans Federation voted to expel ten members for being affiliated with the Friends of New Germany. The Federation has also refused to display the swastika flag at meetings.
The Brotherhood of Temple Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun has succeeded in organizing an informal committee of representatives of East Side congregations, Christian and Jewish, to hold occasional joint meetings. A dinner meeting will be held May 16 at the Plymouth Congregational Church.
