Miss Minerva Aaronson, New Haven Jewish girl, was married here today at St. John’s Catholic Church to John J. Raskob, Jr., son of John J. Raskob, prominent Catholic layman and chairman of the National Democratic Committee.
Miss Aaronson is the daughter of the late Abraham Aaronson, one time assistant state attorney-general of Connecticut and a member of the state house of representatives for many years. Miss Aaronson is nineteen and Mr. Raskob is twenty-three. Miss Aaronson was formerly a stenographer in a New Haven law office and met Mr. Mr. Raskob while he was attending the Sheffield Scientific School of Yale University.
When the engagement was announced in September, Miss Aaronson was asked about the attitude of her family toward the forthcoming marriage. Her answer was “my family is not very orthodox, so why worry?” Indicating that the religious differences between herself and her fiance did not bother her, Miss Aaronson said that “the main thing is that we are in love and that we want to get married.”
The bride’s mother and Mr. and Mrs. John J. Raskob, Sr., were present at the ceremony.
