Prof. Milton Campos, Minister of Justice and the Interior, was the principal speaker at a rally commemorating the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, officially representing President Castello Branco. More than 1,500 persons attended the meeting this weekend. Among the other major participants were Yossef Nahmias, Israel’s Ambassador to Brazil; Dr. Samuel Malamud, president of the Zionist Federation of Brazil; and Rabbis Henrique Lemle and Rachmiel Blumenfeld.

As representative of the President, Prof. Campos told the meeting that “the heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto fought not only for their own doomed lives but for the dignity of the entire human race.”
