Minneapolis Jewry is mourning the death of Isaac L. Borushak, leading figure in Jewish communal affairs. He passed away six weeks after he and Mrs. Borushak had returned from a visit to Palestine.
He was born in Poland in 1864, was married there and came to the United States with his wife in 1889 to settle in New York City. Subsequently the couple made their home in Milwaukee and later in St. Louis. They came to Minneapolis in 1914 and, except for periods on visits to Palestine, resided here since that time. For years he was president of the firm of Borushak and Rubenstein, which he established.
Mr. Borushak was a leading figure in the Zionist movement, serving for years as president of Mizrachi here.
