Gov. Orville L. Freeman has appointed Municipal Court Judge Irving R. Brand, a prominent member of the Jewish community, as a judge of the Hennepin Country District Court.
Judge Brand, who is 36, is believed to be the youngest man ever to serve on the district bench and is the second Jewish jurist to be given that honor. Judge Brand was first named to the bench by former Gov. Luther W. Youngdahl in 1951.
