The Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota disclosed today it had telegraphed a protest to the French Ambassador in Washington against the embargo imposed by President de Gaulle on military equipment and materiel for Israel. The Council’s message to Ambassador Charles Lucet said the Minnesota Jewish community was “shocked and dismayed” by President de Gaulle’s action.
It said it was “unbelievable” that France “should lend herself to being a party toward helping destroy a little nation which has come into being only through blood, sweat and tears, and now, with the help of France, may be totally destroyed.”
