Two minor bills for amendment of the naturalization and immigration laws were introduced in the House of Representatives, one by Congressman Bloom of New York, which would make inapplicable that portion of the naturalization law breaking the continuity of residence required for admission to citizenship in cases of absence abroad for more than one year, provided the absentee’s stay abroad is in connection with an American institution of scientific research.
The other bill was introduced by Congressman Tilson of Connecticut. This bill would permit the admission of the alien wife of an American World War veteran, despite the fact that she had committed a crime involving moral turpitude during her infancy.
