Disagreement over the methods adopted by the Friends of Israel Society, a Catholic missionary body established two years ago, was given as the reason for the decree of the Congregation of the Holy Office, dissolving the society.
The Holy Office cannot tolerate the movement which is opposed to the doctrines of the church, the decree stated, prohibiting faithful Catholics from writing and publishing books favoring the movement.
