The merger of the Mizrachi labor organization and the Agudah laborite group into a joint religious labor party was announced here today. The announcement said that an agreement to this effect was signed this week by leaders of both groups–Hapcel Hamizrachi and Poale Agudas Israel. Merger of the “mother organizations” of both groups–the Mizrachi World Organization and the World Organization of Agudas Israel–is now being negotiated.
Under the pact signed between the two orthodox labor groups, a single world central committee and executive body will be elected, with Poale Agudas Israel receiving one-third of all executive posts. Institutions maintained by the groups will hereafter be conducted on a joint basis.
