“Young Israel,” with 400,000 Membership, Joins Mizrachi

New strength for the Mizrachi, the Orthodox Zionist organization in the United States, was enlisted at the first annual banquet of the One Thousand Mizrachi League, Agudath Ha’elef, held Wednesday evening at the Broadway Central Hotel, New York. The League is composed of sustaining members who pay $25 annually. Several hundred leading Orthodox Jews in New York City attended the banquet, which was presided over by Gedaliah Bublick, President of the American Mizrachi. The majority of those present at the dinner have enrolled in the League. A novel feature of the proceeding was the rule of the President that no speaker, of whom there were many, should speak for more than five minutes.

Among those who addressed the gathering were Gedaliah Bublick, Rabbi Israel Rosenberg, Rabbi Wolf Gold, Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum, Rabbi Jacob Levinson, Rabbi Nachman H. Ebin, Harris L. Selig, Isaac Allen, Philip Wattenberg, Sol Lamport, Abraham Cohen, Z. Karp.

An announcement was made that the Young Israel organization has decided to join the Mizrachi Organization. The Orthodox youth organization has a membership of 400,000.
