“The decisive role of the United States in the creation of Israel and the constant concern of the U.S. for the well-being of the new state manifests the noblest and truest spirit of American idealism, “Dr. Pinkhos Churgin, president of the Mizrachi Organization of America, declared yesterday at the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Mizrachi movement.

Addressing more than 2,000 members and guests in the Manhattan Center here, Dr. Churgin said that the development of a supreme religious authority in Israel which will “make the Jewish State a world center for the spiritual guidance of all Jews concerned with the advancement of historic Judaism in their lives and in the lives of succeeding generations, “will be one of the major tasks of the American Mizrachi movement in the future.
