The Mizrachi Organization of American said today in a message issued on the eve of Yom Kippur that “in a chaotic world where the first major casualty has been the increasing weakening of traditional family ties, it behooves every thinking person who cherishes the value of family stability to seek every possible means of reaffirming these ties.”
Dr. Pinkhos Churgin, Mizrachi president, announced that in order to “stimulate the reestablishment of the Jewish family unit as the basis for Jewish survival and creative development in America,” the religious Zionist movement in this country–starting on Yom Kippur–has launched a national campaign to enroll “father-and-son” members in the organization. The drive will seek to “forge the modern link in the ancient Jewish tradition of father and son ties,” Dr. Churgin said.
