A new Bessie Allen Center, named for a Chicago Jewish family, was dedicated at Kfar Batya, the children’s village sponsored by the Mizrachi Women’s Organization of America.
Members of the Allen family attended the ceremony, as did Interior Minister Moshe Shapira and Walworth Barbour, the American Ambassador to Israel. Mr. Shapira called on American Mizrachi Women to extend efforts for construction of more cultural centers in Israel, to save Israeli youth from "cultural backwardness."
