The first public sign forbidding Jews to enter appeared today in Breslau at the entrance of the offices of the Students Association.
This is only one of the evidences of a furiously renewed campaign against the Jews of Germany, stimulated chiefly by the Voelkischer Beobachter which has been carrying, daily, articles inciting feeling against the Jews.
In today’s issue, the Beobachter issues accusations against the Jews as traffickers in white slavery, delving into the past as far back as Roman Empire days, when, the Beobachter says, Jews were leaders in the white slave trade.
Public speeches by National Socialist officials stress the one anti-Semitic note with furious intensity, each Nazi in office seeking to outdo the other. Some of them openly call upon their audiences to destroy not only the Jewish spirit, but the bodies of men and women in whom that spirit is embodied.
Typical of these outbursts is that of Bernhard Kohler, government rapporteur on social and political affairs who, in addressing a meeting of 10,000 Nazis in the Sportspalast here demanded that the status of Jews be made similar to that of nomad Gypsies.
