A small earthquake struck Israel today, registering light to moderate strength in this city. Tel Aviv and throughout Galilee. The 30-second tremor apparently centered in the Safad area.
In Galilee, the area closest to the shock, doors were knocked out of kilter, windows were smashed and lamps knocked over. In this city, where the Hebrew University’s seismographs picked up readings of the quake, only windows were broken in various sections of the city.
