A cornerstone has been laid here for a blood fractionating plant to be named in honor of the late Col. David Marcus, West Point officer who died in Israel’s War of Liberation.
Present at the ceremony were Mrs. Vera Weizmann, widow of the late President and head of the Mogen Dovid Adom, which is building the plant, and representatives of the Health Ministry and British and American diplomats. Machinery to be used in the plant was contributed by the American and South African Friends of the Mogen Dovid Adom. Among other uses to which the plant will be put will be the production of gamma globulin, which is used to prevent poliomyelitis,
