Speakers at a dinner for the advancement of Jewish religious education in Brooklyn, at the Hotel St. George this evening, will include Municipal Court Justice Nathan Sweedler, chairman of the Brooklyn division of the Jewish Education Association; Bernard Semel, honorary secretary of the association; and Mrs. Gabriel Hamburger, chairman of Ivriah, according to an announcement by Simon F. Rothschild, chairman of the sponsors’ committee of the Jewish Education Association.
The dinner will mark the first anniversary of the Brooklyn division of the Association, and proceeds will be devoted to tuition scholarships in Jewish religious schools for needy children.
Mr. Rothschild and Justice Edward Lazansky are co-chairmen of the sponsors’ committee. Other members are Samuel I. Cohen, Abraham Krumbein, Jacob Levy, David Marcus, Samuel Rottenberg and Jacob H. Cohen. Members of the dinner committee, which is headed by Dr. Charles F. Fisher, include David Bergner, John Bogart, Louis M. Brass, Sidney Q. Cohen, Henry H. Fabricant, Jacob A. Fortunoff, Samuel Y. Gitlin and Solomon Millendorf.
