Montefiore Hospital Opens $1,200,000 Drive

A fund of $1,200,000 for new construction to provide more modern facilities is being sought by Montefiore Hospital for Chronic Diseases, the largest hospital for chronic invalids in the world, it was announced.

Of the sum required almost half a million dollars has already been subscribed. Subscriptions will be made payable in four annual instalments beginning July 1, 1929. Harold Lehman is treasurer of the fund. Sol. G. Rosenbaum is president of the hospital, which is one of the affiliated institutions of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies.

A gift of $100,000 from Solomon R. Guggenheim was announced on the opening day of the drive. Two gifts of $50,000 each were received from Samuel Sachs and Harry Warner. Sol G. Rosenbaum contributed $25,000 as did Harold, Walter and Gertrude Hochschild.
