The Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of Montreal launched a campaign for $250,000 tonight at the Mount Royal Hotel.
The honorary chairman of the campaign chairman is Michael Morris.
The budger for 1927 called for expenditures of $228,000 which will be increased to $250,000 for the year 1928. The Federation has under its wing fourteen constituent societies, an orphans’ home, a family welfare department, a juvenile and society, a legal aid department, a sheltering and old people’ home and the Herzl Dispensary. A new building for the sheltering and old people’s home is at present being constructed at a cost of $130,000.
