The local $1,680,000 drive of the United Israel Appeal was launched here at a dinner in the Windser Hotel with Dr. Abba Hillel Silver of Cleveland as guost speaker.
Samuel Bronfman, Canadian Jewish leader, declared at the dinner that “we are determined to complete the gigantic tasks of immigration, resettlement and rehabilitation in Israel in which we have been engaged for more than a decade. What we do in Montreal will inspire renewed generesity and self-sacrifice on behalf of the United Israel Appeal in commities from coast to coast.”
