The Federation of Teachers of Jewish Schools of Montreal dis- associated itself today from a slowdown observed last Tuesday by teachers in five Montreal Jewish schools. A spokesman for the federation said Its members did not condone the “spontaneous study sessions” staged by the teachers and a Federation statement reported that its officers “are trying their utmost to prevent the recurrence of such slowdowns.” The statement asserted that the “apparently negative attitude of the (school) boards In current negotiations for a three-year contract” was hampering the federation’s efforts.
