More than 1.000 persons were present at the exercises marking the opening of B’nai Brith Old Folks Home here.

Rabbi Elijah Stampfer, of Baron Hirsch synagogue, Mrs. Arthur Jacobs and Charles J. Haase were the speakers.

The largest services in Chicago for the High Holidays were held by the Temple Sholom Congregation, where 4500 persons gathered to worship. The services were conducted by Rabbi Abram Hirschberg. A choir of fifty under the direction of Professor Joseph Schwickerath sang.

Benjamin M. Engelhard, President of Temple Sholom Congregation, announced that 1.000 free tickets were distributed at the doors of Medinah Temple.

The services at Medinah Temple were broadcast by radio from WGN, the Chicago Tribune Station.
