More than 200,000 Jews had to leave their homes this year, including 10,000 Jews from Cuba, of whom more than two thirds left for the United States, the eighth annual World Migration Conference was told here by James P. Rice, executive-director of United Hias Service. He said that most of the displaced Jews had come from Eastern Europe, Egypt, North Africa and Cuba.
The meeting was attended by representatives of 23 international voluntary agencies concerned with immigration, and government representatives from the United States, Australia, Canada, France and Israel. Mr. Rice reported that more of the Jews still in Cuba were still hoping to leave.
