More than 300 U.S. rabbis signed a statement calling on Israelis and Palestinians to share Jerusalem. More than 800 of the 1,200 rabbis initially approached would not sign the statement, which said that in the interests of “justice and peace” Jerusalem should “be shared with the Palestinian people.”
