More thru $3,250,000 was raised for the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York at a gathering of 600 persons arranged by the Joint Defense Appeal, it was announced here today. Edmund Waterman, JPA treasurer who presided at the dinner-gathering, reported that this was the largest sum ever raised by the New York UJA at a single gathering in the current campaign.
