More than 70 percent of Poles polled say they want to keep a large cross that Pope John Paul II prayed under in 1979 standing near the site of the Auschwitz concentration camp. But 48 percent of those surveyed said they do not back the new crosses that Catholic activists have set up near the site in recent weeks.
