More than 7,000 persons took part last night in a nightlong “Vigil of Solidarity With Israel.” Speakers paid tribute to Israeli restraint in the face of continuous provocations on the part of the Arabs, An appeal was issued to the Italian Government to take a stand in defense of free navigation in the Gulf of Akaba as proclaimed by 30 seafaring nations in 1957. A similar meeting was held in Milan.
