More than five hundred residents of the Bronx attended a dinner at the Concourse Plaza Hotel marking the fifteenth anniversary of the Yeshiva Rabbi Israel Salanter of the Bronx. The dinner was in the form of a tribute to Leon Fuchs, member of the board of directors of the institution, for his work during the past two years in aiding the seminary through a financial crisis.
Max J. Schneider presided at the dinner. Principal addresses were by County Court Judge Harry Stackell and Rabbi S. Reichman. Messages of greeting were delivered by State Senator Lazarus Joseph, Judge Israel Adlerman, Rabbi E. Predmesky and Jacob Goodman, president of the yeshiva board.
An oil-painting of the guest of honor by Gerson Fischer was unveiled and presented to Mr. Fuchs at the dinner.
