Israel is more popular than ever with West German tourists. There were 30.9 percent more German visitors there so far this year than for the corresponding period last year, according to figures released today. In April, 1970, 1569 Germans went to Israel compared to 1167 in April, 1969. West Germans comprise five percent of all foreign tourists to Israel, up from 4.2 percent last year. A youth delegation of Histadrut, Israel’s trade union federation, is visiting West Germany at the invitation of the German Trade Union movement. The youngsters have inspected industrial plants at Nuremberg and in the Ruhr and have had contacts with German workers.
