Alfred L. Morgenstern, deputy collector of internal revenue, died here at the age of 61 years. He had been in the U. S. service here for eighteen years and for a time was in charge of the local internal revenue department. Nineteen years ago he served as a member of the State Assembly and previously was president of the Alameda Chamber of Commerce. A widow, Mrs. Emily Morgenstern, survives.
