All parties in the recent talk on the political future of Morocco have given the World Jewish Congress assurances that the Jews of Morocco “will not be the target of physical violence and that, with all other Moroccans, their rights and liberties will be safeguarded” an official of the organization declared today.
Speaking on a home service broadcast of the British Broadcasting Corporation, A.L. Easterman, political director of the World Jewish Congress, reported these assurances and said that Jews in all countries “pray fervently, with the whole civilized world, that goodwill, wisdom and restraint may prevail and that Morocco may soon achieve peace in the spirit of democracy and freedom.”
